A Bit Overwhelmed but a Great Weekend – June 10th, 2019
June 7th, 2019
Last week ended with our project team having a group meeting. After that meeting was over I felt very overwhelmed on our newest addition to the weeks which are weekly presentations. Each week one of the team members has to give a 15-20 minute presentation on what happened that week. The other two who didn’t present have to make a 2-3 slide presentation doing the same. I am supposed to be the first presenter in two weeks and I guess I’m nervous but I hope my Toastmaster’s clubs have prepared me well to present. The other thing that’s been really overwhelming is the amount of papers in Cybox right now that we have to read. I’ve said it multiple times but I am not a strong nor fast reader so it definitely intimidates me.

The weekend turned out great and helped distract me from the overwhelmed feeling I had at the end of the week. On Saturday we had the ropes course which was pretty fun though I’m not the biggest fan of heights so I decided to be the photographer instead when it came to the huge tower lol. Overall it was great and I learned how supportive our group is with each other. I had to help be Lara’s eyes on the beam challenge since she got blindfolded. It ended up working out in the end though I fell off a few times but luckily since we were running out of time they let it slide (Honestly this means I need to go to the gym more to strengthen my ankles to be able to balance more lol). Later that night a few of the interns met up to watch a movie in the apartment and we watched A Star is Born and it was honestly a great movie. Highly recommend it! It was a lot of fun just hanging out with the other interns for a relaxing night in. On Sunday I went to Walmart & TJ Maxx with Karina and we used the bus system finally to get there! I realize how difficult it is to carry a lot on a bus and I was lucky that Karina was there to help me.

Today so far we have started Solidworks (YAY). I was really looking forward to Solidworks and Maya because of learning something different from programming that I am used to. I’m excited to see where it goes. Also on another not so great note my bike tire this morning (after getting it fixed at Val’s on Friday) is flat ONCE AGAIN. Such bad luck. Not really sure what Ill do about it.
