Today and the end of yesterday have been super great and uplifting. Yesterday I went to the gym for the second time this week (I’m trying to make it a habit to go 3 times a week and maybe this blog will hold me accountable). I realize that I need upbeat music to get me in the zone to work out and get me motivated. Surprisingly after working out and stretching, I woke up this morning not feeling that sore. I also found out yesterday that I got the Deeper Dive that I wanted!! Super excited to be on the 3D printing team! I saw in Alex’s slides that he has 7 different topics we can relate to 3D printing. I noticed the AR one as something I can relate 3D printing to my major. I am planning to take an introduction to AR course in the fall so I would love to have some prior experience with it.
Today we got some free time to ourselves so I decided to finally sit down and work on my presentation for tomorrow.. I’m a bit nervous and hope it goes well since I’ve changed a lot in my presentation from the mock presentation before. Hoping my Toastmasters skills come in handy tomorrow haha. We also had another luncheon lecture with Diana Sloan and it was very different from the others we have had so far. She talked about her experiences and hardships with grad school and how she went about finding support. As a Hispanic myself I felt I could relate to some of the Spanish culture she mentioned. I really enjoyed hearing someone talk about grad school and school in general for what it really is and to remind us that its ok to look for help when needed. After the lecture we saw that Andrew put out some of the past years T-shirt designs. Im excited to see what we come up with and having a free moment to laugh and talk and have fun with the group was really great and was something I can say was much needed to connect with my peers. 🙂
