Here are my notes from today&#8217;s lecture:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Presentation Date: July 30th<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>concise summary<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2-3 min of discussion (elevator pitch)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2-3 hr session average<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>vibrant (and exhausting) space<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Why a poster?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>visual summary of research<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>good for networking and collaboration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>chance for feedback<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Key Elements of a poster<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Title &#8211;&gt; clear, concise, main idea, easy to read<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Intro &#8211;&gt; brief background, problem statement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Method &#8211;&gt; visual, describe research and data collection<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Results &#8211;&gt; key findings, also include visuals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discussion &#8211;&gt; interpret results, relate back to research<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conclusion &amp; Future &#8211;&gt; where this can go in the future<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Q&amp;A<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a chance to engage w\/ industry professionals and faculty<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>big for networking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Based off this presentation and the presentations from the other groups, here are my questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comm Heat:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Is your research focused locally?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What does an affinity diagram look like? What does it do? How did it affect your project?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Did your research touch on ways to adjust our environment to reduce the frequency and intensity of heat events? (Ie replace concrete with &#8230;, reduce this type of pollutant, etc)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Curiosity:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What types of activities seem to help students engage?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is there research into why student engagement is decreasing?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do you have any research about how technology affects engagement?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Day 42.
