4rth of July and Luncheon Lecture
The 4th of July gave us a great break. We went out to the waterpark, which was really nice and not so hot! We saw Alex there and hung out with him for a while, too!
On Sunday, I decided to bike out to ledges State Park. Whew! It was tough man. It was 14 miles out, but google maps lied to me! It put me on a gravel road, just after it rained for like 10 of those miles! On my skinny old road bike tires! >>:(((. Google maps said it would take 1 hour, but it took me like 2 hrs because of that. Then, I reached the park and it was worth it. It was beautiful and shady and they had potable water stations. I chilled for like 30 mins and ate my sandwich. Then I hiked around, up and down for like 2 hours. Then, I had to take the dreaded path back. Thankfully, I found a better way back, and it was all on paved road, but it was 18 miles. Even though it added 4 miles, it was still faster! It took me an hour and 30 mins to bike back. Also, I lowkey broke my back gear shifter on the gravel, so I only had my front 3 gears to use. ;n;
On a research related note: Tommy had a great idea for the HCI design. He definitely helped focus my energy. I was already starting to work on the coding of how to make it, but I think I was getting ahead of myself. Now, I’m working on planning what the layout will look like, what buttons we need, and what those buttons will do. We are also working on a presentation to the University of Iowa.
Miko Wilford: Thanks for the luncheon lecture. It was so cool to learn about the issues in our law system. Before the talk, I knew of the concept of false confessions, but I didn’t consider how it is researched. I learned a lot! Thanks again!
