MCA and lunches
For my MCA, I’ve been working on going from a 3D scan to a 3D print. It been going really well actually! Definitely not perfect scans, but way better than Alex expected. Shout out Alex, Sam, and Emily for helping us!
Yesterday for lunch, Glenn made fresh BBQ for everyone! It was amazing. I had burnt ends for the first time, and it was melt in your mouth delicious.
Holly Oberbroeckling gave us our luncheon lecture today. The food was good. Thanks for sharing your experiences going from an REU intern to where you are now!
MCA Update images:

from above, it is clear there are errors:

Face Errors (psychological horror of fused face and glasses):

3D test print of the model:

The MCA is still a work in progress, and I will be continuing to improve it. As you can see from the 3D print, the face has not many discerning features.
Ahh, fixing scanned meshes. No one better to guide you on that than Alex. He has been the resident expert of that in VRAC for many years.
Yup! Alex has been a lot of help.
