Last week we all had to opportunity to travel down to Iowa City and get to see some of the university. Our purpose there though was to meet with the other REU there to listen and learn about their research projects. Now going into this I was a little nervous remembering the imposter syndrome thinking that what we have done was not going to be anywhere near what they have done. But, after learning about their topics and what they have accomplished I can say that I am proud of my work as well. They were not super ahead like I thought but right with us, learning and failing like we have been. This was a great moment to not only to learn about other cool projects but to also tell myself I am doing great work as well. Then we had our presentation there about our projects which went super well, getting great feedback from my peers. After Friday, I was super excited to keep pushing forward hoping to complete our awesome project.
