Luncheon Lectures
I just want to take a moment to talk about all the speakers in our luncheon lectures thus far, Eliot Winer, Jack Miller, Jim Oliver and Holly Oberbroecking.
I think that these lectures are extremely helpful and always give us something to look forward to. It’s amazing to be able to talk to each speaker individually and get to ask them questions about their upbringing. It makes me feel human and heard to know that a lot of the negative feelings I experience, they have also been in those shoes. Typically, when we look at successful people, we see them as just that, failing to realize that they too had to go through the emotional rollercoaster. I also just think it’s awesome in general to see all the different paths and careers that these guests have taken. Not to mention, each one of them are super kind people and offer great advice which I find super encouraging. Overall, I’m very thankful for these lectures and to be able to have lunch with all the guests.
Signing off,
Big Jack
So glad to hear these are having an impact on you. Yes, we’ve all been there. Come and talk to me and I’ll tell you about a life changing meeting I had in grad school (25 years ago) when my boss (whom I was about 2.5X larger than) chewed me out and taught me how to act professional and respectful. I was a brash young student who had to learn that I didn’t know everything. I still think about that a$$ chewing and how it helped shape me into a successful professional.
