Reading, Reading, Reading
Alright! This one is more about our research. Since last week, we have been reading, reading, reading, researching, annotating, reading articles for our project. I’m discovering so many concepts in Acoustics and VR; it’s sometimes frustrating to read and having little to no idea of what is said in the paper. My brain is always burning and very lost on the data part of the articles since some concepts and variables are more advanced. But Dr. Barakat gave us a lesson today- it touched pretty much everything on acoustics, psychoacoustics, physics, and a little bit of neuroscience. From there, I learned a little more about acoustics, but it helped me especially to know what to dive more in about the sound part of our research. Plus, our weekly meetings with our team helps me to make progress in research.
It might be too early for this? But I just LOVE being here, working in this program. The mentors are PRESENT, answer questions, understand that there are things we might not understand, I learn from their experiences as someone who has always considered graduate school. So far, we are on Blender, and I have learned a lot. I was able to run my guessingGame code last week in C++, I felt like a superheroine after about 8 hours of suffering on it. I enjoy being with the other interns, I also learn from them as some are advanced on some skills, I am getting to know them (as an introverted person, it might not be easy), I feel understood… I JUST LOVE BEING HERE!!
What a great post. Thank you. We love having you here. Keep up the great work!
We love having you here too!
I’m also loving it Vanina!!! Even despite all the reading… (the reading is really interesting though)
