Starting solidworks!
Yesterday we starting working with solid works! This is one of the things I was pretty excited about, seeing as I enjoy modeling but haven’t worked with CAD since high school. There was definitely a learning curve but today I feel like I’m flying through it! It’s a lot of fun figuring out how to build things, it scratches my brain in just the right way.
Over the weekend, my boyfriend Josh visited and we went with the group to the Ames farmers market which was a ton of fun! I loved looking at all the craft booths and all the food looked so good. We ended up getting flavored honey sticks, a burrito bowl for lunch, a cheese pastry, and malt ice cream (so so good). Then the rest of the group left and Josh and I checked out the other stores on the strip before riding the bus back to campus and going bowling! We also went to Cornbread for lunch, a place I’d found through our catered lunch and learn.
On Sunday night, all the REU members went out for pizza at The Great Plains and tried taco pizza! The dough was MASSIVE!
I’m looking forward to our movie night tonight, as we’re watching RRR and I haven’t seen many Bollywood movies. I’m also looking forward to exploring the city of Ames more and exploring 3D modeling!

Taco pizza! Did you like it? Try the brisket n chill at Cornbred. It will change your life
Cornbred is an absolute must!!! I aspire to get my smoked meats like theirs.
