Staying on Top of Things (or failing to)
What’s the best use case for AI? Maybe it’s figuring out where all my time disappears off to 🙁
For the past about 2 weeks, I’ve felt like it has been really hard to stay on top of our research. Between the classes scattered throughout the day, impromptu meetings about various things, and “learning” to “cook” and do other things outside of work, I feel like I barely have time to work on the actual research project (I’ve been slacking on the blogging as well). While I’m frustrated with this, I do see some good in it. For instance, I’m learning what environments I work well in, and when I might just need to go move to a different room entirely to get work done. And I’m getting to do it in a safe environment where expectations are lenient.
Hopefully after reflecting on these things, I can actually implement what I need to be more productive throughout the day. I guess we’ll see how that goes
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I can relate. I often have the dilemma of either practicing more what we learned in one class or focusing our research. Sometimes I’ll just prioritize our research, but I wouldn’t have enough time to assimilate certain things we were taught. I figured out I need a 5min walk outside with music in my ears, that helps me to stay energized and focused. When I’m working, I also need music for the same reason.
I can relate to this. This is me every semester, I always tell my friends that 24 hrs a day is no longer enough for me. The only way I can overcome the feeling of getting things done and also making sure it is done on time is to have a to-do list, and I make a priority list of things that need immediate attention and things I have more time to work on. I block time off on my calendar and focus on specific items from my to-do list. It has always helped me get things done, and not feel like I have slacked off on a certain to-do item.
I am a very detail-oriented person, and I hate half-done things, which is also not a good combination when I have a lot on my plate :/. To make sure I do not burn out, my stress-relieving activity is cooking.
The to-do list is also my go-to. But sometimes a task takes me longer than expected because I think it’s not done well and I need to do more on it. Sometimes, I don’t know how to solve this issue of always not being satisfied enough.
