Test early, even when you’re not ready
I’m definitely somewhat of a perfectionist, and I don’t really want to show someone what I’m working on until it’s in a state I’m happy with. But throughout the last few weeks, I have been really happy with the feedback I have gotten on things even when they’re in a rough state.
Interesting point Nathan, definitely some growth there! Your project, from what I have seen, has made excellent progress.
I surely am a perfectionist and very detail-oriented. However, with time, I have learned that if I don’t show a first draft to get feedback, there is a possibility that I might pivot into designing something that the user did not request. Being in the HCI program, I have always learned to do multiple drafts and get feedback, because at the end of the day, you are providing solutions and designs to the user.
Good job on learning to be ok with testing at rough states. I personally know how much confidence should be built up to feel ok to do that.
