Unity Struggles
Yesterday, I realized learning something new can be really frustrating and also really rewarding. I had never touched unity prior to this REU and had no plan to touch it due to a lack of time and some interest in things like game development. But I have realized how fun unity is when things start working along with the challenge it brought me giving me an increasing interest in learning, maybe pushing me more towards grad school. I had spent almost the entire day trying to implement a new feature to our scene starting with one approach, then moving to another approach, and finally realizing the first approach might have been the best. This process of learning to fail was annoying but showed me how fun it can be to learn from it. I may have had little to no progress to show for it but gained more knowledge in unity and figured out how to map out my agenda for progressing, a skill my mentor showed me. Hopefully tomorrow I can finish it with what I learned from both my mistakes and what my mentor has shown me.
