As the end of my undergraduate career approaches, I am vigorously pursuing opportunities to explore the fields I may enter into. I have a great interest in visual technologies and computational design and art.  I would get exposure to visual computation and AR/VR in this REU which would greatly help me understand these areas of research. This REU offers exploration of cutting edge technology such as AR/VR which is precisely the intersection I intend to develop a career. Secondly, the research experience of this REU would help me in developing some works of art which I have been formulating for a few months. I am creating an art series with various mediums including videos with motion graphics and augmented reality. I have explored augmented and virtual reality with the Oculus headset and visited art exhibits which utilized augmented reality technology.
