6/13/24- Ruby
Last night, I was really tired after work so I just stayed in the apartment for most of the night and tried to get work done. Before we went to bed, we did watch some tv, so that was fun.
This morning, we had some work time and then had our first Intro to HCI lecture. We talked a little about the history of HCI and talked about how important it is to go to conferences in your fields. I liked learning about all of the different conferences in HCI and might end up going to some of them in the future. After that, we had a lunch and presentation with Carmen Gomez. She showed us some of her research making sensors that test for various chemicals in liquids. Some of her work has been used in the agricultural sector to detect chemicals from fertilizer in fresh produce. While her concepts were really complex, I thought it was cool how creative some of their solutions were and how many big organizations she and her team have worked with.
Tonight we will have a game night at VRAC and get some more homework done.
