Last night, we went to downtown Ames as a group for the first time this summer. There was an art walk, where lots of the shops were open later and artists had booths along the sidewalks. While I didn’t find anything from the artists, they were very talented. There are a lot of really cute shops in downtown Ames, but they all close around 6 pm or earlier. I hope that we will go back there possibly sometime on the weekend so we have more time to look around. After visiting Ames, we went out to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings. I had a really good wrap and it was lots of fun getting to hang out longer.
Today is our last day of C++ lectures. We went deeper into classes and talked about how you can inherit functions between classes. After our lecture, we went to lunch with our teacher, Nick. This was lots of fun and there were lots of laughs. Harrison got approached by some kids asking to play truth or dare and he entertained them for a bit.
Later today, we will have our last lecture on C++ where Nick is going to tell us all of the things he wished he learned when he was starting C++. Angelica, Chu Chu, and I have had a lot of reading to do in our free time. I don’t mind it, but I think it is funny to see the other teams collaborating on coding and we are all sitting quietly taking notes on research papers. I’m not sure what we are doing tonight, but I wouldn’t mind a quiet night in.
