7/23/24- Ruby
Last night, I took a day off from homework and made a dessert from Ohio called buckeyes. It’s a peanut butter truffle dipped in chocolate so that it looks like the nut of the buckeye tree. Since we don’t have a hand or stand mixer, it was a lot of work mixing everything together, but I think they turned out great! The recipe made about 50 of them, so I brought half of them into VRAC today so people could get a taste of Ohio. Lydia has been asking me when I was going to make them since I got the ingredients, so she was excited to see me making them when she got home yesterday.
This morning, I did the homework for Ethics class that Eliot assigned to us last night and continued working on the paper. Our luncheon lecture speaker was the Dean of the Graduate College. She gave a really interesting presentation on all of the resources ISU has for graduate students and some of the research she has done here. It was really interesting hearing her insight as someone that has a job helping people through grad school.
Tonight, we are having the highly anticipated pasta-making class with Sarah and Eliot. I am really excited!
