Dev log: Troubleshooting

SPIRE-EIT 2024 Posted on July 16, 2024 by Rodney WhitneyJuly 16, 2024

Since we talked last a bunch of things have happened! We went to Des Moines again, went to a “beach”, went bowling, grilled hotdogs, and most importantly, started coding! Most of the code is functional in parts but not together- so it’s been a rough week for troubleshooting and creating new scripts for our game…. I want the game to be finished by the end of this week, but the more errors that pop up the more unlikely it looks…and then we also have to have our presentation and posters done by next week. So much work, so little time~ We have CUNY presentations next week-so I gotta get back in the groove of talking in front of ppl and … Continue reading →

Wassup chat, long time no….talk…. We just finished our MCA presentation last week and are starting actual development on our actual projects this week. PHOTO DUMP I cant wait to actually start dev-ing the game its gonna be so much fun (dreading the writing portion). All I hope is that we actually finish development and have a working prototype because if we actually finish this could be HUGE (if the game actually accomplishes the goal of our project). Alright yall, see you soon…(actually this time)

HCI: GPS Navigation, Auditory and Visual vs. Auditory

SPIRE-EIT 2024 Posted on July 2, 2024 by Rodney WhitneyJuly 2, 2024

Research Question: Which GPS navigation system is more effective for drivers, Auditory and Visual or just Auditory? Hypothesis: Auditory and visual stimulation will be more effective for navigation. IV: What kind of navigation systems are used by subjects. DV: Navigation abilities. Methods: using a driver’s testing course to test subjects while displaying auditory and/or visual directions in order to measure the navigation performance and effectiveness through time trails. Through time trial measurements of the drivers we will be running a correlational study to determine how different input of GPS navigation affects ones directional skills.

SPIRE-EIT 2024 Posted on June 25, 2024 by Rodney WhitneyJune 25, 2024

Chat so much happened since we last chatted ~ On Saturday our hike got canceled due to the weather so we went to brunch instead. We also went to the water park later on. 8.4/10 Not enough stuff to do~ On Sunday I stayed in a little extra before working on our powerpoint for the STEMXR team meeting. Then yesterday, we began on our deeper dive MCAs and I did my first 3D print in ~10 years (I didn’t model it SAJ). Im trying to test a bunch of different mechanics with 3D printing like joints, chain links, mechanical compliance, and magnets to hopefully make something really cool. I stayed at VRAC until 10 pm working on homework with Angy … Continue reading →

SPIRE-EIT 2024 Posted on June 5, 2024 by Rodney WhitneyJune 5, 2024

My arms feeling much better than yesterday…. Getting back into the groove of things is tuff… C++ and Git are annoying☹️. Going to actually have to lock in and pay attention to what I’m required to read. (I got embarrassed) Angie got me addicted to Hades and now I can’t stop playing it.
