Graduate
Roselynn Conrady
Roselynn Conrady is a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering and Human-Computer Interaction at Iowa State University and a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. Her research investigates how extended reality can be used to explore and mitigate human stress responses, especially in neurodivergent populations.
Austin Garcia
Austin Garcia is a master’s student in Human-Computer Interaction at Iowa State University. He is currently researching asymmetric collaboration between users in virtual and augmented reality. His previous research focused on virtual reality training for manufacturing, emergency scenario simulation, human-agent interaction, and online cooperation.
Michael Holm
Michael Holm is a master’s student in Mechanical Engineering at Iowa State University. He is currently researching how point clouds and 3D scanning can be used to create a true digital twin of a manufacturing facility. His other research interests are machine learning and simulation.
Adam Kohl
Adam Kohl is a Ph.D. candidate in Mechanical Engineering Computer Engineering at Iowa State University’s Virtual Reality Applications Center. His research interests include the development of pattern recognition techniques and supervised methods for engineering applications.
Nicholas Matthews
Nicholas Matthews is a master’s student and research assistant at the Virtual Reality Applications Center at Iowa State University. He has a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering. His research interests include building virtual reality applications for engineering systems.
Jack Miller
Jack Miller is a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Engineering and Human-Computer Interaction at the Iowa State University’s Virtual Reality Applications Center. His current research interests include exploring multi-user experiences in virtual and augmented reality environments, specifically for traffic simulation.
Robert Philpott III
Robert Philpott III is a Ph.D. candidate in Aerospace Engineering and Human Computer Interaction at Iowa State’s Virtual Reality Applications Center. His area of research revolves around modeling complex systems, value focused thinking and ethics surrounding unmanned aerial systems
Alex Renner
Alex Renner is a Ph.D. student at Iowa State University in Mechanical Engineering with a Co-Major in Human Computer Interaction. His research focus is real-time thermal process simulation of Additive Manufacturing processes to help novice users of low-cost 3D printers reduce or eliminate part defects.
Kexin Wang
Kexin Wang is a master’s student in Human-Computer Interaction and Computer Engineering at Iowa State University’s Virtual Reality Application Center. She is working on developing Augmented Reality work for weather simulation and general mobile application development.
Undergraduate
Baganesra Bhaskaran
Baganesra Bhaskaran, is an undergraduate student in Cyber Security Engineering at Iowa State University’s Virtual Reality Applications Center. His interest in VR & AR development has driven him working for research projects for the center, which enhances his knowledge on that field while putting his coding ability to a practice.
Dante Goldner
Dante Goldner, is an undergraduate student in Mechanical Engineering at Iowa State University’s Virtual Reality Applications Center. His current research interests include optimization of multidisciplinary systems and simulation of engineering systems.
Mattan Tseng
Mattan Tseng, is an undergraduate student in Mechanical engineering at Iowa State University’s Virtual Reality Applications Center. His research interests include the creation of customizable UI and the use of haptic feedback devices in extended reality environments
