One reason I want to learn about emerging interfaces at Iowa State University is because of ISU's Virtual Reality Applications Center (VRAC). The VRAC is a very impressive facility where incredible research has taken place, such as the LVC training environments. Learning about the LVC training was fascinating to me because of how the simulations work, how much valuable information you can learn from the simulations, and how the LVC technology can still be improved as augmented reality and other similar technologies continue to be develop and improved upon. As a result of all of the amazing research that has taken place at the VRAC, it would be an amazing opportunity to get the chance to work with a VRAC faculty member throughout the summer.

Additionally, I find emerging technologies so interesting because technology is constantly changing and developing. In just my short life so far, I've seen technology develop at a rapid rate and quickly become an intricate part of everyday life. Technology has developed so much; from the development of touch screens, to virtual reality, and to artificial intelligence. Although you may be told that you can't do something today because the necessary technology has not been developed yet, it's just a matter of time before that technology is developed or another solution to the problem is discovered. Nothing is truly impossible when it comes to technology. The solution just hasn't been developed or thought of yet.
