I am interested in emerging interfaces because I would like to pursue a career in brain‐computer interfacing, or I would like to use emerging interfaces for mental health applications. I have always been fascinated by the brain and how it communicates with the body. For some individuals, this communication no longer functions correctly, whether due to an injury or an illness. Technology can help to give people a better quality of life, whether allowing for increased motor skills, communication, or assisting in basic tasks. I have always wanted to help people and creating technology with this potential excites me. I want to be a part of the research in this technology to help to improve others's quality of life.

Additionally, I am interested in the applications that emerging interfaces have for assisting in the treatment of mental illnesses.  I am interested in creating technology that can assist patients in reducing symptoms. The impact that this technology can have on someone's life is unthinkable, and I hope to be a part of this process.

Overall, my passions lie not only in understanding the brain but also in technology and mathematics. I love patterns and solving problems, and I loved my psychology class this past semester. These passions have led me to brain‐computer
