6/6/24- Ruby
Last night was a lot of fun because Harrison, Lydia, Rodney, Chu Chu and I went swimming in the state gym pool for the first time this summer! We played in the whirlpool, watched Harrison jump of the high dive a few times, played lots of water basketball, and relaxed in the hot tub a little bit. It’s been a long time since I’ve been swimming so I had lots of fun and am excited for the next time we go.
This morning, we went around campus with Paul to take pictures for the website. We all got matching shirts with the vintage mascot to wear for the photo shoot. After we got back, we had our next lunch & lecture with Dr. Wes Lefferts, who talked about the connection between cardiovascular health and brain functioning. I really liked how he stressed that his journey was non-linear and that you don’t need to know exactly what job you want because eventually you will find what you are passionate about. He also showed us a little bit of how he makes animated anatomical diagrams in PowerPoint. That was really impressive.
The rest of today is a work day and then we will go to the Art Walk in downtown Ames tonight.
Here are some pictures from last night:
